Suggestion for writing TRUE FALSE item

1. Avoid broad general statement if they are to be judge true or false (be specific)
2. Avoid trivial statements (unnecessary things)
3. Avoid the use  of negative statements, especially double negative

                e.g:

None of the students is uninterested in joining the class

                -> Everybody interested in joining the class

Double negative can be given if your aim is to test your students comprehension

4. Avoid long complex sentence
5. Avoid including 2 ideas in one statement, unless cause effect relationship is being tested
6. If opinion is used attribute it to some source

Types of estimating reliability:

1. Test retest

            one test is administered to the same students             at least two different times

1. Parallel forms

            two different version of test at the same time are      administered to the same students

1. Two scorers

            one test is administered once to the students and      the scores are separated into two parts

1. Split half procedures

            one test is administered to the students and the         scores are separated into two parts,1^st and 2^ndpart
